 The principal manufacturing procedures specified under ASTM A312 Pipe are:

 Automatic welding process with no addition of filler wire.

 Annealing after welding.

 Tension, Reverse, forward-bend and hardness tests of each lot.

 Hydrostatic of each pipe

 Wall thickness may not be more than 12.5% under nominal thickness.

 Normally furnished in square cut ends, pipe with beveled ends can be provided. Spot radiography or 100% radiography can be provided on all weld seams. Seamless Steel Pipe is pickled and passivity as per ASTM A312 to maintain corrosion resistance and to prevent surface discoloration from free iron oxidation.
