The CHAMP MIG 400 is a heavy-duty inverter-based GMAW welding outfit designed for high-performance applications. Powered by an IGBT inverter, it utilizes advanced components including a power module, high-frequency transformer, and fast recovery diode to ensure superior efficiency and performance. The complete system includes a power source, wire feeder, gas-cooled torch, and interconnecting cables. It features a digital control panel for precise welding adjustments and is up to 25% more energy-efficient than conventional machines, offering a high power factor of up to 0.95. With excellent dynamic response and arc characteristics, it supports both 2T and 4T modes and includes dynamic inductance adjustment, crater voltage/current control, and a unique pinch-off pulse feature to prevent globule formation. The system includes automatic weld stop functionality and front panel selection for normal or creep feeding. For safety, the CHAMP MIG 400 is equipped with under-voltage, over-voltage, over-temperature, and single-phasing protections, displaying appropriate error messages during faults. It operates on a 415V ±15% 3-phase AC supply at 50/60Hz, with an input power of 12.0 kVA at 100% duty cycle and a power factor of up to 0.93.
